Trevor Lever - Managing Director
Marketing / sales / technical information
Trevor established the company in 1982 following over 20 years experience in textile dyeing, chemical and dyestuff sales and product development.
He defined the company strategy of Quality and Reliability in all aspects of the business and in 1990 it became one of the first U.K. chemical companies to achieve what is now BS EN ISO 9001 status.
Managing the marketing and sales of the company’s products he is particularly active in all aspects of the flame retardant business from product development to technical support and customer service.
Doreen Lever - Financial Director
Financial control / health and safety
Doreen is Trevor’s wife and has been with the company since its inception. Her strong control of the company finances has been instrumental in building the respect of both customers and suppliers. This has become particularly important during recent years as the company has developed export business to the present 60 % of turnover and growing.
Avocet takes its responsibilities for the safety of products, employees and customers seriously. Doreen ensures that we adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and Environmental Protection measures.
Michael Lever C.Col ASDC - Technical Director
Technical information / sales - dyes, flame retardants, textile auxiliaries
Michael has worked in the business for over 20 years being involved in product development, technical service and sales. His knowledge of the dyes and auxiliaries and their application is second to none.
He is responsible for Quality Control, Technical Service, Product Development and sales to key accounts in the U.K. He is also actively involved in the development of our agent/distribution network throughout the world and makes frequent overseas visits supporting our sales.

Janette Lever - Operations Director
Sales / purchases / orders / product information / samples
Janette has also been with the company for over 20 years and has wide experience in all aspects of company administration including the export of our products and the import of raw materials.
Janette’s responsibilities cover the scheduling and buying of raw materials, stock and production control, receipt and processing of customer orders. She also supplies the day to day support to our overseas agents with regard to product information, samples, prices and marketing.

Paul Ravenscroft C.Col ASDC - Business Development Manager - Flame Retardant Systems
Sales / product information / technical support
Paul specialises in the development of our CETAFLAM® flame retardants. He leads a technical team researching new chemistry for textile flame retardants which will have low environmental impact and cost.
He develops application systems for customers which may involve modification of the basic CETAFLAM® formulation to satisfy their particular requirements.
Sales responsibilities include technical support for our flame retardant customers in the U.K. and through regular overseas travel our world wide distribution network.

Jean Cunningham - Laboratory Manager
Quality control / technical service / product development/sales
Jean is principally responsible for testing raw materials before processing, quality control of finished products and customer technical service. The latter exercising Jean’s knowledge of dye application in most textile processes. All these aspects are fundamental to increasing our sales. She is in the team developing CETAFLAM® FR products with special interest in formulations for dyebath application.

Tony Turner - Sales Representative
U.K. sales / technical support / product development
Tony is principally responsible for the development of sales of CETAFLAM® flame retardants throughout the U.K. and Republic of Ireland. This exercises Tony’s extensive knowledge of our flame retardants and application systems.
Supported by our Technical Team he works with customers to solve their flame retarding problems using CETAFLAM® products through laboratory and bulk trials. He will develop, if required, modifications to application methods and basic CETAFLAM® formulations.
