Advanced QC abilities for Avocet Dye and Chemicals
A brand new Datacolor 650 spectrophotometer with full software package including Tools & Match Textile with smart match technology has just been installed in our UK dye manufacturer quality control laboratories.

The highly versatile Datacolor 650 allows for both reflectance and transmission measurements, giving increased flexibility when assessing colour. This new system has now replaced the previous spectro and QC software which although fully functional had become dated in terms of its flexibility.

“We invested in the latest state of the art Datacolor 650 spectro and software to enhance our QC capabilities with the best available technology to carefully analyse all aspects of colour standardisation for our global customers. The new Tools QC software is also allowing us to look at other aspects previously unavailable in our old system giving greater confidence when manufacturing to tight pass/fail parameters. With the new Match Textile prediction software with smart technology we will have the ability to offer more rapid response to customer enquiries. Additionally we can link more easily to our customers and offer greatly improved customer service reducing lead times.”
“The input of the data sets to create new match prediction data is going to take some time, however we have already seen the benefits from the initial inputs. We are looking to be able to roll data sets for our key Avocet M & Cetalan AV acid dye ranges early in the New Year, followed by data sets for our world leading Avopol XS dyes for Polyester/Wool blends.”
