Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals

In response to the Greenpeace Detox campaign, a group of major apparel and footwear brands and retailers made a shared commitment to help lead the industry towards zero discharge of hazardous chemicals (ZDHC) by 2020. Whilst this deadline has now passed and Greenpeace having stepped away from being actively involved many in the global textile industry are still fully committed to moving this project forward to try achieve the original objectives and much more.

Avocet has always been committed to the highest standards of product safety and has been working to the ZDHC MRSL guidelines for all our products for many years. Now we have taken the next step of actively joining the ZDHC Gateway program.

Through independent certification to Oeko-Tex® ECO Passport with Hohenstein Institute we are able to provide the highest ZDHC classification of Level 3 Progressive to our listed products.

To find a list of Avocet's products that meet the stringent testing parameters and to ensure compliance with the latest versions of the Manufactured Restricted Substance List (MRSL) please contact us for an invite to the Gateway program.

Roadmap To Zero - Input

We create a new status quo, one where harmful chemicals are not used to make things. It should be easy for producers to find and use safer options. That way toxins don't end up in our environment or the items we wear. Real, long-lasting change - we won't settle for anything less.
